Jerry Douglas "Doug" Goins Jr.

June 19, 1965 - November 6, 2020

Jerry Douglas "Doug" Goins, Jr., 55, of Mauldin, husband of Daun Newton, died Friday, November 6, 2020 at Prisma Health Upstate.

Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of Mary Phillips Goins and the late Jerry Goins, Sr.

In addition to his wife and mother, Doug is survived by daughter, Katherine Smith (Drew); four sons, Rusty Lindsey (Alison), Zack Lindsey, Blake Lindsey (Janet Clemens), and Austin Newton (Theresa Earls); sister, Sherry Harmon; and four grandchildren, Mack Smith, Cole Annand, Everett Lindsey, and River Lindsey.

Everyone knew Doug to be a kind and gentle man. He was an avid outdoorsman and taught many in the state the joy of the sport of archery. He was known as an expert bow technician.

The memorial service will be held Sunday, November 15, 2020 at 5:00 PM at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home Downtown. The family requests that those in attendance follow CDC guidelines regarding social distancing and wearing a mask.
