Jewel Ailene Buckner, 90, of Piedmont, loving wife of Charles Buckner, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, April 8, 2021.

Born in Asheville, NC, she was the daughter of the late General Lee and Florence Lanning Howard.

She was of the Baptist faith and worked for many years at the Greenville County Court House in the RMC Division. She enjoyed nature, gardening, and any time spent outdoors.

She is survived by daughter, Hazel Drake and her husband, Robert; grandchildren, C. Brian Miller, Joel Drake (Marian), Gwen Stamp (Jamie), Elisa Miller, and Sheila Miles; ten great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; siblings, Lillian Cox, and Dan Howard (Melba); numerous nieces and nephews; and her fur baby and best friend, “Buddy Bear”.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mavis England; and five siblings.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
