Jimmy Roger Bennett, Sr., 86, of Greenville, SC died Monday, October 5, 2020.

Born in Erwin, TN, he was a son of the late Roy and Anna Deacon Bennett.

Jimmy served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired after many years as an Electrical Engineer in the Delta Division for Fluor Daniel and was a member of Marathon Community Church

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Margaret Thurston Bennett; two sons, Jimmy Bennett, Jr. (Susan Earle) and Joel Bennett (Kristen Wright); a daughter, Wanda Lynn DuVall (Ed); a brother, David Bennett; three grandchildren, Shaun, Corey and Kyle; and three great grandchildren, Raelyn, Aubreigh and Grayson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Roy Bennett Jr. and Charles Donald Bennett; and a sister, Betty Bennett Dawn.

The funeral service will be held Monday, October 12, 2020, at 12:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ronald McDonald House, www.rmhc.org.
