Joey "Joe" Nicholas Angalet, 55, loving husband of Mandy Angalet, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021.

Born in Huntington, WV, he was a son of the Nikki Michero Angalet and the late Louis Angalet.

Joe was a very active member of Simpsonville United Methodist Church where he served as a leader in the youth program and coached church basketball as well as taught children and youth in Sunday School. Known on the basketball court as "Vanilla Thunder," he also coached travel baseball, assisted with the cross country team at Mauldin High School, and volunteered with Mauldin Miracle League baseball with his son.

Beginning as an Electrical Engineer, Joe enjoyed thirty two years of service to Michelin-North America, where he currently was an Investment Manager.

In addition to his mother and wife, left to cherish his memory are three children, Abby, Andrew, and Adam Angalet; brother, Michael Angalet (Michelle); mother-in-law, Betty Sawyer; sister-in-law, Dina Davis (Chris); niece, Anna Angalet; and four nephews, Nicholas and Benjamin Angalet, and Jeremy and Jordan Davis (Ariel).

Joe's love of the Clemson Tigers and his memory will be celebrated with a Clemson style tailgating party at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Simpsonville United Methodist Church, 215 SE Main St, Simpsonville, SC 29681; or Mauldin Miracle League, 4 Teaberry Court, Greer, SC 29651.

So sorry to hear of Joe's passing. We went to college together and each started our careers with Milliken & Company. Prayers for the family!

I was very shocked yesterday to learn of Joe's passing. My deepest condolences to the family. Joe was a great guy, and I enjoyed working with him. I pray that God will comfort you all during this time.

Joe and cut and split the HUGE oak trees in their back yard. He was such a true joy to work with both in and outside Michelin. He is in Jesus' arms now. From Verne Swan ret. from US1.

Mandy, I was heartbroken to hear of Joe's passing. He was a wonderful man to work with and always talked lovingly about you and his children. He will be greatly missed.

Mandy..I was heartbroken to hear about Joe...What a great guy he was!! Such a kind and gentle soul..And so so funny.....I remember the time a refrigerator fell out of the back of his truck on Haywood Road...It became a most hilarious story...May you rest assured that you had his heart and may that give you peace...Much love. Mandy, we are so sorry to hear about Joe. Our hearts go out to you, Abby, Andrew and Adam. I remember Mark and I meeting him many years ago at your mom's house. He seemed like such a wonderful and kind man! Our prayers are always with you, and I pray that God will continue to cover you with HIs love and peace!

Woody and I will always remember Joe's infectious smile and hearty hugs and handshakes whenever he greeted us. His warmth and love of people was manifested in his everyday actions by the way he treated everyone the same. May his family find peace and comfort in knowing the fond memories he created for so many, many people, and may he rest in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father forever.

I was a coworker with Joe at Michelin but more importantly I call Joe a friend. He was an infectious optimist, always cool under pressure, and an all around great guy. My heart and prayers go out to his family and friends at this tragic loss. May God give us peace!
