Vickie Cadillac and I were shocked and saddened to hear of Johns passing. We would have definitely gone to the service but only heard 2 days ago. We both thought the world of John. He was a gentleman always and a dear friend. We will keep you and the family in our prayers.

Entries Mr. Wilkes has been my sons bus driver for years and we were very sad not to see him Monday morning and hear of his passing. My son always had sweet little things to say about him. I enjoyed seeing him every morning as my son got on the bus. He protected my son on the way to and from school for years and I´m very thankful for him. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Vickie, the best memory I have of John is he was my deacon when I was diagnosed with breast cancer and was having surgery the next day. John called me the night before and talked to me and prayed with me and for me. That meant so much to me as I was facing uncertainty. Much love to you and your family.

I’m so sorry! Prayers for him. My daughter Alexis rode Mr. Wilkes bus for 6 years. She loved him. Everyday she would get off the bus cross the street and turn back and give him another wave good bye. Thinking of him!! ???

My love, thoughts & prayers are with this precious family! I have such sweet, fun and cherished memories of the Wilkes having the youth group over to their house while growing up at Woodside Baptist Church. Their godly home and hospitality will never be forgotten!!

There's nothing but a smile at heart. I loved how we laughed and cracked jokes. It was wonderful being a coworker of yours for 16 year's. We were just cracking jokes on each other on Friday, this was so devastating to hear, yet I know you're a man in the right hands of the Lord. We're going to miss that voice over the radio and around the campus of DBC, smile on as you fly on 903 clear. You'll be missed Mr. Wilkes, Mae

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our neighbor John. John was a wonderful man, who always had time to chat and talk about any topic, that came his way. He would always tease me by referring to my husband as "my boyfriend." If I walked alone in the community he would ask; "Where is your boyfriend today?" Many times during our walks he would talk about his sons on how proud he was of them and about his upcoming retirement and future trips. We will miss him dearly. Our condolences to Vickie, her sons and family.

Ms. Wilkes & Family, Mr. John was a beloved bus driver here at Donaldson Bus Center. He was one of my "buddies". I will greatly miss him and hearing him over the radio with his endearing "903 clear". I will also miss the wonderful talks we had about Hershey candy & about his son's out in Colorado. Praying for the peace of our Lord that passes all understanding. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Much love, Lisa Flanagan
