Johnny Mack Griffin, 78, beloved husband of 47 years to Barbara Griffin, of Easley, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 17, 2022, after a brief illness.
Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Harold “Rusty” McSwain Griffin and Ora Hughes Griffin. He was the youngest of three children.
Mack grew up in the Dunean Community in Greenville. After graduation from Parker High School in 1963, he proudly served our country in the United States Air Force. Mack retired from Mitsubishi Polyester Film in Greer, SC as a Maintenance Supervisor after a 24 year long career.
He was a man that loved a wide variety of things, from going on Caribbean cruises to camping trips to the beach. And if you knew him well, you knew he enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, such as driving to Hendersonville, NC, to enjoy a good Hot Dog from Hot Dog World. If you ask his grandchildren, they would tell you that Papa’s favorite saying was “Just put Mayo on it!”
Mack was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, Easley, SC. He was a man of strong work ethics, unshakable faith, and family values. He loved his Lord, his church and his family and he will be missed every day, but his memory will live on through his loved ones.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by daughters, Rita Daniel Thomas (Chuck) of Robbinsville, NC and Paula Ann Fenton (Chris) of Greer, SC; son, Thomas Anthony Daniel of Travelers Rest, SC; eight loving grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew, Alexandria, Logan, Zach (Kara), Cody, Brandon, and Josh; five precious great grandchildren; Serenity, Luna, Christine, Levi and Madelyn.
In addition to his parents, Mack was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Griffin Anderson; and a brother, Harold Thomas Griffin.
A visitation will be held Monday, November 21, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 22,2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest. Burial will be held in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rock Springs Baptist Church, 201 Rock Springs Road, Easley, SC 29642 or to the charity of one’s choice.
