My heart is saddened and my soul hurts. Joey, as football coaches would say, "was a good'un!" Indeed, he was not only one of the best linemen we ever coached, he was a good person. My prayers go out to his family. When you coach young people, you develop a special bond, a unique love for one's players. The time, effort--the sweat, pain, and even blood--and experience of working toward a common goal does the chemistry of this special bond. Our love for all of our players and especially Joey was real...and is the source of my pain for the passing of one so special.

I am so sorry to hear of Joe’s death. Joe was such a good friend to our family- my husband and kids. What a kind man, generous, full of fun. My kids have many happy memories of fishing and hunting with him - he was so good to all of them - we all loved him and will miss him. I am thankful we will see him again with our Lord Jesus.

Mary & John, so sorry to hear about Joey. As you know we were back door neighbors since the late 1960's when we lived on Shelburne Rd. My brother Mark lives in that house now. He spent a weekend with us at our mountain place a couple of years ago and had a great time. Joey was a super nice person, we morn your loss. Paul & Sissy Clark
