To Richard and family - We recently learned of Joy's passing back in December. Our condolences go out to you and all the family. We have many happy memories of those years in Knollwood, where our children swam on the swim team, played at the creek and played games at the pool yard. They were good years. Blessings, Pete and Nancy Schlepphorst

Bill and Anne Hawkins left a message on December 17, 2023:
The Lord gave Joy so many wonderful talents--her singing, her technical expertise, her quilting and sewing, her cooking, etc. The most important thing is that she used all those talents to serve the Lord faithfully. She was a friend and helper to so many and we so enjoyed her singing at church. She will be greatly missed by all of us who knew her and we know because of her faith in Christ, she is enjoying the glories of heaven now! Bill and Anne Hawkins

A mother's love is always with her children. Losing a mother is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know. But her goodness, her caring, and her wisdom live on-like a legacy of love that will always be with you. May that love surround you now and bring you peace.
Donna Davin left a message on December 13, 2023:
What a mark Joy left on everyone’s heart that she ever met. Katie, your mama was a very special person with a heart and soul of good. She always had a smile and kind word and a voice that sang like an angel. And that’s what she’s doing right now, singing in the heavenly choir. My prayers are with each of you. May God wrap his loving, comforting, peace giving arms around each of you and carry you through this difficult time. Your friends are only a phone call away to help your family anytime 24/7.
Julie King left a message on December 13, 2023:
Joy was my friend & sister in Christ. We both loved crafts and enjoyed chatting about our hobbies. I was overwhelmed when she gifted me with one of her gorgeous quilts. The Lord had blessed Joy with a beautiful singing voice. I was happy when she sang one of my favorite songs, “Amazing Grace, My Chains are Gone.” She was a faithful servant of our Lord, & I will greatly miss her.

We have been friends and fellow church members of Joy at Hallmark Baptist for many years. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and used her many gifts in the Lord's work. Doug was blessed to serve with Joy in the music ministry of the church. We have been blessed to have Joy as a part of our lives. You will be greatly missed, our sister.
Jennifer Boukather left a message on December 12, 2023:
Joy was such an amazing woman! She was both strong willed and tender-hearted. She enthusiastically participated in the adult Bible School class and discussions at church business meetings. She not only participated in the women’s ministry, but she took a leadership role in getting the church women involved in community outreach opportunities and times of fellowship. Joy was generous to her sisters and brothers in Christ and those in need. And, she was generous with her talents. I will miss her beautiful voice singing in the pew behind me, talking about her recent travels, and hearing about her latest sewing project.
