Brett Rutledge Martens left a message on March 17, 2023:
Keeping all of you in my heart and prayers. One of the best memories of Mr. Dority. Right after Hugo we (Julian, Lucie and Julian’s brother) took their boat out and we’re looking at the damage. A police helicopter hovered over us and on the loud speaker told us to get away from the beach. I was scared to death, but Mr. Dority just kept slowly going down the beach acting like he had not head them! We then left the ocean and we hit the Marshes. Thee was so much personal things all over the place. It was surreal. That was the best day, after what we had been through with Hugo.

Jim Bagarazzi left a message on March 17, 2023:
Still remember our first meeting almost 40 years ago and our first meal together at Moore's fish store (or "Mo's" as Julian pronounced it), sitting on makeshift stools made from discarded telephone cable spools, and not the last time we would return there for lunch. Working with Julian over the years somehow never seemed like work, no matter how difficult the task. Couldn't ever hope to have repaid him for his many kindnesses and guidance that he freely bestowed on me over the years, and he wouldn't have expected any. His occasional visits to my office after he retired, never failed to lighten the day. Though he wisely never let me drive his Boston Whaler, our occasional rides in it on Lake Hartwell when we played hooky from the office on nice days will always be a cherished memory. So while I have some appreciation of the magnitude of the loss being felt by those closest to him, it is beyond measure, and so to them I offer my deepest and heartfelt sympathy.
Nancy and Ron Kuykendall left a message on March 17, 2023:
It is with great sadness that we hear the news of Julian. Nancy has particular fond memories of Julian teaching her how to cast for fly fishing and of the trip to Washington when she was a teenager. Julian was always a bright light for her. Ron remembers Julian as the one who broke the boredom of seeming less endless days at Ward, and for hear (beer) and balled (boiled) crab. May he rest in peace.

William Brothers left a message on March 15, 2023:
I wish to offer my sincere condolences to the family; I used to work in the same building in the early 90's and would see him in passing. He actually backed into my car one evening; immediately came to the door and let me know he would take care of it. Great character and good sense of humor too. I didn't know him that well but his open display of honesty left a great impression. He was brilliant and personable and a good office neighbor. I know his loved ones take great pride in his accomplishments and how he personified a life lived well. Rest in Peace kind sir!
