Kathleen Howard Copeland

Kathleen H. Copeland, 83, wife of Jerry L. Copeland of Mauldin, passed away on November 8, 2023.

Born in Georgia, she was the daughter of the late James Arthur Howard and Elsie Callaham Howard.

A graduate of Greenville High School, she was a member of Mauldin First Baptist Church. She loved music. She was Organist for three churches: East Park Baptist Church, West Greenville Baptist Church, and Wright Southern Baptist Church at Ft. Walton Beach, FL. When she was young, she did a lot of church work: church secretary, Sunday School teacher, G.A. Director, G.A. Leader, and Training Union Leader. She organized the Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. Post #1845, and was their first President. She helped her husband when she was in the Shrine. She was President of Ladies Auxiliary of Golden Strip Shrine Club and was President of the Airdettes.

In addition to her husband of over 60 years, she is survived by close family friends, Laura and Nick Pliaconis and her “grandson”, Andy.

The visitation will be on Sunday, November 26, 2023 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral home, Downtown with the funeral at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
