Kathryn was a friend to anyone who needed one. During my time with Belk, her door was always open to everyone. Whether you just needed to vent or if you needed help, she would do anything she could for anyone. She will live on through the memories, that so many hold, of the positivity and light she brought into our lives. My condolences to her family during this sad time.

Kathryn is one of the sweetest, most caring people I know. She was always there for everyone, and I will miss our chats in her office, she always took the time to ask how things were going, and to listen when you were having a bad day. She also saved me many times when I didn't know what I was doing, and didn't complain when I didn't understand. There will always be a hole in the heart of Belk, where she was so loved. My thoughts love, and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.

Ben Fisher left a message on April 17, 2020:
Working with Kathryn was one of the greatest pleasures of my 9 year stretch of managing associates. She was truly one the most genuine caring souls I had ever meet. She took on the role of a “work mom” of sorts to me and I will be forever grateful. Early on when I first arrived I felt quite out of place coming from a large metropolitan area to a southern town I felt a little out of place. But Kathryn was so open minded and loving, she made me feel right at home. She also took care of me when after just a month I got appendicitis, I thought it was just a stomach ache, but she knew better. She made me go to the hospital, and what do you know? Her caretaker instincts were right. This is just one of the many many examples of how caring and love Kathryn was. She was such an asset to my team, everyone was so comfortable coming to her if they had an issue and she would take a truly empathetic parochial to the situation. Thank you so much for everything Kathryn. We miss you, we love you... until we meet again. Ben and the entire belk team.

We will truly miss Katherine she was very reliable when it came to being a Belk HR associate! She was way too young to go I loved our conversations about local restaurants and good food ! I remember our last conversation was about how she convinced her family into letting her cook Christmas dinner for them because they have always done it for her in years past and she was so proud of the meal that she made them!
