Larry Dean Case, age 91, passed away on April 12, 2022. He was the loving husband of the late Ella Mae Alexander Case. Larry was the seventh of nine children born to the late Thomas Ervin Case and Hattie Pack Case.
Born in Pickens County, Larry Grew up in the Travelers Rest and Fountain Inn areas. He moved to Greenville in the late 1950s. Larry served his country through the Air Force in the Korean War from 1951-1955. That experience triggered a lifelong passion for aviation. He found peace in the clouds and spent as much time there as possible. He rebuilt a 1929 Golden Eagle Chief that he donated to the Triple Tree Aviation Museum later in life in addition to restoring a 1930 A Model. After his military service, Larry worked with his brothers at Case Builders and Supply for a number of years. He then worked in office management at Dealers Supply in Greenville and retired from there in 1996.
Larry loved God, his family, and his country. He was a devoted member of Eastlan Baptist Church. Always a gentleman, Larry was a loyal friend to many, a treasure to his family, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The sole survivor of his nuclear family, Larry was predeceased by his parents and his siblings, Ruby Case Hendrix, Charles D. Case, Robert M. Case, Ruth Case Redding, Raymond Case, Thomas Case, Cecil Case, and Betty Baxter Case.
Larry is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens followed by a time of visitation.
