Born in Pickens County, Larry Grew up in the Travelers Rest and Fountain Inn areas. He moved to Greenville in the late 1950s. Larry served his country through the Air Force in the Korean War from 1951-1955. That experience triggered a lifelong passion for aviation. He found peace in the clouds and spent as much time there as possible. He rebuilt a 1929 Golden Eagle Chief that he donated to the Triple Tree Aviation Museum later in life in addition to restoring a 1930 A Model. After his military service, Larry worked with his brothers at Case Builders and Supply for a number of years. He then worked in office management at Dealers Supply in Greenville and retired from there in 1996.

Larry loved God, his family, and his country. He was a devoted member of Eastlan Baptist Church. Always a gentleman, Larry was a loyal friend to many, a treasure to his family, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The sole survivor of his nuclear family, Larry was predeceased by his parents and his siblings, Ruby Case Hendrix, Charles D. Case, Robert M. Case, Ruth Case Redding, Raymond Case, Thomas Case, Cecil Case, and Betty Baxter Case.

Larry is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens followed by a time of visitation.

So sorry to hear of Larrys passing. I first met him along with his friend Bogan, at the airport when I was about 14 years old. Through the years, he always kept up with all the airplane projects I became involved in. Because of Covid, the last time we were able to have lunch together at the Coach House, was right before Covid. God speed Larry. Now you can soar every day. Eddie Clark.

Larry was by far the best of the Good Guys. Spent many enjoyable hours with him on that Model A. Never saw him without that smile no matter what, or without his wedding ring. Larry, say hello to Ella Mae for me and pat God on the back for doing such a great job on you. John

Barbara and I loved Larry beyond measure. He was a true blessing to so many people. Eastlan folks will truly miss him at church, Wed Bible study and Sunday School!!!

Larry has been a faithful friend for many years, I will miss his loving and caring ways. RIP my dear friend.

Larry was an avid aviator, a true gentleman and a good friend. He will be missed by all of his friends in the aviation community, by his other friends and family and by his Newspring Eastlan Church family. I learned much from Larry over the years and will sorely miss him, but the thought of him being reunited with Mae and imagining the huge smile on his face makes me smile. He will not be soon forgotten.

Larry Case was one of the nicest individuals I have ever met. I first met Larry when I became the Airport Director at GMU approx. 39 years ago. Larry rented one of our T-Hangars for many years and would always send thoughtful and appreciative notes with his monthly rent. He will be sorely missed.
