Leila Iona Black Richey

Leila I. Black Richey, 71, of Greenville, went home to be the Lord on July 22, 2004. She was a loving mamma and nanny and was loved by all who knew her. She was a member of Grove Road Baptist Church and the daughter of the late Jessie and Lillie Black. Surviving are three children, William Chapman of Ware Shoals, Gwendolyn Collins and her husband, Jimmy Collins of Duncan, Billie DeArmond and her husband, Kerry DeArmond of Greer; six grandchildren, Brooks Culbertson, Mikisha White, Maurice DeArmond, Jimmy Collins, III, Joey Collins, Amanda Chapman; four great grandchildren, Caleb and Miller DeArmond, Ezra Brady and Reese White. Also surviving are two brothers and one sister, Alton Black, Bill Black, and Dot Lieblong. She is preceded in death by nine siblings. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer?s Association or Grove Road Baptist Church in honor of Mrs. Leila Black Richey. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 24, at 3:00 p.m. at Grove Road Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina with visitation prior to the service, from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. at the church.
