Luke Sumter Wardlaw, beloved son of Zach and Sarah Wardlaw, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024, at the tender age of six and a half months.
From the moment he entered this world, Luke brought so much joy to all those around him with his infectious laugh, beautiful big blue eyes and bashful smile that could brighten anyone’s day. Although his time with us was brief, Luke’s impact on our lives will be everlasting as he brought immense love and happiness to his family, and anyone who had the pleasure of spending precious time with such a precious little boy.
In addition to his parents and big sister, his memory will forever be cherished by his grandparents, Lisa and Dell Porter and Tish and Stephen Wardlaw; great-grandparents, Betty Rogers, Dr. J. Thomas Dean, Cordell Porter, James and Linda Wardlaw, Duane and Judy Sutherland, and Willie Harper; uncles and aunt, Will Porter and Jeremy and Emily Wardlaw; cousins, Natalie and Olivia Wardlaw; and numerous other loving family members from the Dean, Gilbert, Lockhart, Porter, Sutherland, Wakely and Wardlaw families.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home in Downtown Greenville with a service to celebrate his life to follow at 12 noon in the Chapel. A private burial will be held in Robinson Memorial Gardens in Easley.
While we mourn the loss of our sweet Luke, we also celebrate the profound impact he had on our lives. He will forever be remembered as the best little brother, whose light touched each and every one of us. He will always live on within our hearts and continue to be the guiding light for us as we navigate through these dark times.
