Lurline Pruitt Finley, 86, of Taylors, and affectionately known as “MeMe”, went home to her Lord and Savior February 19th, 2022 surrounded by her family.
She was born in Mt. Airy, Georgia, but was raised and attended school in Easley, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Emory and Ruby Pruitt.
Mrs. Finley was a clerk much of her life and was a wonderful mother to three girls and multiple grandchildren who were the apple of her eye. In recent years, she has been involved with Senior Action and thoroughly enjoyed the various activities it offered. For the past 50 years, she has been a member at Lee Road Baptist Church where she was involved in various ways from Joy Club, dietician, babies, youth, etc. She loved her numerous friends in her Gleaners Sunday School Class.
She had an infectious laugh and was always full of mischief. Her smile could light up a room and she had a true love for her Savior and all He created.
She was predeceased by her cherished husband of 58 years, Charles Perry Finley; a grandson, Bennett Moyd; two brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by three daughters, Charlene (Ken) Ward of Mauldin, Susan (Mark) Salzman of Lake Wylie, and Telisa (Danny) Moyd of Greenville. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Danny (Courtney) Donald, Chris (Dorsey) Ward, Ryan (Marjorie) Donald, Jonathan (Brandi) Ward, Brooke Cantrell, Livingston (Grace) Moyd, Alexander Moyd, Sarah (Nathan) Dale, and Mary Kathryn Moyd; 28 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Emmaline Pearson, and Mary Collins, both of Greenville.
Betty Mitchell has been an angel and caregiver to Lurline for the past several months.
Upon entering Heaven, surely the Lord said, “How brightly you let your light shine, precious daughter.”
Burial will be held on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Park. A celebration of life will be held at Lee Road Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with visitation to follow until 4:00 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Lee Road Baptist Church, 1503 E. Lee Road, Taylors, SC 29687 or Young Life Ministries, 2320 E. North Street, Suite NN, Greenville, SC 29607.
