Luther James Finley Jr., 79, of Greenville, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021.

Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Luther James Finley, Sr. and Soula White Finley. He was a Carolina High School graduate, class of ’59, best known for owning and operating the family business, Finley’s Market, on Augusta St.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia Dowden Finley, of Greenville; and two sons and daughters-in-law, Luther James Finley, III and wife, Tracy Carter Finley, of Raleigh, NC and Walter Raymond Finley and wife, Ashley Queen Finley, of Greenville.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to Triune Mercy Center, 222 Rutherford St., Greenville, SC 29609 or to the charity of one’s choice.

The Jim Finley, Jr. Family, When I was a small kid my Dad worked for Nabisco. He put Crackers on the shelf at Finley's Market He and Mom bought meat there often. I would tag along, I can still smell the turkeys and hams cooking around Christmas and Thanksgiving I remember Mr. Finley and that small Market and the friendly people who worked there.
