Marion J. Spitzmiller, 82, entered Eternal Life peacefully at her home Wednesday, September 14, 2022.
Born in Peru, IL, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Catherine Meyer Smith.
She lived in Summerville SC and raised her family there for nearly 40 years prior to moving to Simpsonville SC. She was an active member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church where you could often find her sharing her time and talents. She also volunteered and cared deeply for the missions of St.Vincent dePaul and Birthright.
Marion was known as a loyal friend of many and her favorite pastime was to spend time in conversation one on one with those she loved most.
She is survived by her seven children, Lori Reinneck (Gary), Mike Spitzmiller (Cathy), Jean Bagga (Bassam), Johnny Spitzmiller (Colleen), Amy Daus (Jeff), Billy Spitzmiller (Mandy), and Mary Jo Allen (Dave); 15 grandchildren, Samantha and Allyson Reinneck, Leigh Ann, Julie, Emily and Rachel Spitzmiller, Ferdaouis Bagga-Ross (Ryan) and Jalel Bagga, Baillee Williamson (Dan), Erik Daus (Meghan), George Daus (Kirsten), and Sarah Daus, Jameson and John Thomas Spitzmiller, and Kylie Allen; as well as 4 great grandchildren, Jordan, Avery, Tucker and Zayden; three sisters and one brother, Kay Lijewski, Ginny Mrowicki, Georgie Smith, Janet Diaz, as well as many nieces and nephews. Her beloved Kiki was her valiant protector and best friend.
The family would like to thank Marion’s caregivers at Interim Home Health and Hospice of the Upstate, especially her nurse, Lisa.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, September 19, 2022 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. All are invited to a reception in the Parish Center immediately following Mass.
