Martha Carrick Brook of Greenville, SC and formerly of Richmond, VA, went home to the Lord on June 21, 2021.

Born in Richmond, VA, she was the youngest child of Zerline and William Charles Carrick.

Martha attended St. Catherine’s School, Mary Baldwin College, and Richmond Professional Institute (now Virginia Commonwealth University). She earned a BS in Chemistry and managed the Miami, Dade County Blood Bank for many years. Once retired, Martha and her husband moved to Richmond, VA, and upon her husband’s death, Martha moved to Greenville, SC.

She is survived by her nephew, William Howerton Kirkpatrick, Jr. of Greenville, SC.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, John Andrew Brook; sister, Pauline Carrick Kirkpatrick; and her brother, Robert Craig Carrick.

The family will have a small graveside service in the Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, VA at a later date.

I will forever miss my dear friend. She taught me many life lessons and told me many stories of her past. She was the sweetest lady!

WORDS CAN NOT EXPRESS THE LOVE I HAVE FOR MY DEAR FRIEND AND MENTOR. I ENJOYED OUR SHOPPING TIME WHICH WAS HARD SOMETIMES. THE JOY SHE RECEIVED WAS WORTH IT ALL, I MISS HER SO MUCH. I WOULD NOT WANT HER BACK IN HER CONDITION. I MISS HER SO MUCH. MY SYMPATHY TO THE FAMILY, GOD BLESS.
