Martha Duncan Evans, 88, beloved wife of the late Wallace Evans, went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, June 23, 2022.
Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Ethel Major Duncan.
Martha was a devoted member of Berea First Baptist Church where she was a part of the Outreach Group and sang in the choir for over 40 years. She took delight in cooking and sharing what she prepared with many family members and friends throughout the years. She had a love for working in her yard and cultivating her garden. She loved the Lord, her church and her family. She will forever be missed but her legacy will continue to carry on through those she leaves behind.
She is survived by daughter, Janet McGee (James); granddaughter, Jennifer McGee Carter (Kevin); great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Ogle (Austin); and a very special great great granddaughter on the way, Riley Ann Ogle; sister, Nell McWhorter (Bob); brother, Neil Duncan (Sandy); sisters-in-law, Helen Duncan and JoAnn Duncan; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her loving husband and parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Tammy Evans Trammell; twin sister, Mary Duncan Craft (Hugh); brothers, Benny Duncan, Tom Duncan, Will Duncan (Jesse), and Jack Duncan; and a nephew, Steve Jenkins.
There will not be a public visitation with the family present, but guests may pay their respects and sign the guest register on Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest. The graveside service will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family appreciates those attending to follow the CDC guidelines on Social Distancing and Wearing a Mask.
