Mrs. Hendrix was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and retired from Canal Insurance Company. Martha had a great love of flowers and enjoyed working in her yard.
She is survived by her sister, Geraldine Burgess Culpepper and a number of nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.
In addition to her parents and husband, Martha was preceded in death by her daughter, Janine “Jan” Hendrix; and three brothers, Bobby, Winfred, and Wallace Burgess.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 22, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown followed by the Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
