Martha Stroud Scott, 85, loving wife of the late Dr. Jerry K. Scott, Sr., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.
Born December 28, 1936, in Greenville, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Hobert Eugene and Helen Clarice Jones Stroud.
She was a graduate of Parker High School and attended North Greenville College. She was a Baptist minister’s wife for over 58 years. She retired from JCPenney after working for them over 20 years.
She is survived by her children, Tonya Lynn Scott Cooper (husband, John Randall Cooper) and Rev. Stanley Leon Scott (wife, Dionna Cathey Scott). Grandchildren; Haley Scott Munson (husband, Nathan Munson), Austin Clark Cooper (wife, Ali Smith Cooper), Jared Lee, Travis Randall, and Noah Thomas Cooper; brother, Thomas Perry Stroud (wife, Donna Stroud) and sister-in-law, Dale Jones Stroud.
In addition to her parents and loving husband, Martha was preceded in death by son, Jerry Kenneth Scott, Jr. and brother, Talmadge Eugene Stroud.
A visitation will be held Saturday, May 28, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown followed by the Funeral Service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow in Graceland Cemetery, West.
