Mary Helen Noe McCutcheon, widow of John S. McCutcheon, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, January 6, 2024. After a decade of gradual physical decline, she succumbed to the ravages of Parkinson’s disease.
Born in Greenville on January 11, 1955, to the late James Woodrow and Delia Mae Huff Noe.
Mary was a graduate of Greenville High School and Lander University with a degree in Theater Arts.
In her youth, Mary was active in drama and theater productions. She held a wide knowledge of American classic cinema, golden-age actors and their biographies. Other interest included crocheting, ceramics, pottery and bridge. A life-long member of Earle Street Baptist Church, she was involved with women’s groups within the church.
Possessing a distinct personality and a keen sense of humor, Mary loved and cherished her family. She is survived by her devoted son, John Woodrow (Woody) McCutcheon of Greenville, her brother, Thomas Edgar Noe and nieces, Kelly Elizabeth and Kasey Leeann Noe of Wilmington, NC and her dear friend and caregiver Diane McKelvey.
Services will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Earle Street Baptist Church at 11:30 a.m. with a visitation afterward.
