Mary Ruth Bowlin, 89, wife of the late Donald Bowlin, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Ruth Brown Matteson.

Mrs. Bowlin was a member of Simpsonville Church of God and was retired from Michelin.

She is survived by three daughters, Cecelia Hipps, Nadene Huskamp, and Gina Ginn; two stepdaughters, Sharon Lee and Cindy Forrestera; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Matteson; sister, Evelyn Myers; one grandson; and one great-grand-daughter.

A public viewing will be held on Monday, May 03, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast. Masks are required in all Thomas McAfee Funeral Home locations and attendees are strongly encouraged to follow CDC guidelines on social distancing. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Simpsonville Church of God followed the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
