Maxie Lee Cooper, 63, of 28-A Caroline Dr., Taylors died July 24, 2004 at St. Francis Hospital, Downtown. Born in Greenville, he was a son of Judge Earle and Hazel Christine Dean Cooper. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Cooper was an electrician with Davis Electrical. He was a Shriner for 40 years and was an avid race face. Mr. Cooper attended Trinity Fellowship Church. Surviving are his companion, Guynell Gambrell, of the home; sister, Margaret Carolyn Derrick and her husband Marvin, of Greenville; two brothers, Billy Maurice Cooper of Greenville and Milton Earle Cooper of Orangeburg; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4:00 ? 6:00 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 am at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, with interment to follow in Graceland Cemetery, West. Memorials may be made to Shriner?s Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Rd., Greenville 29605.
