Words CANNOT adequately express my LOVE & GRATITUDE for Dr. Michael Ross White, aka Padre. He was quite literally my father figure during my time at BJU, without whom I would've NEVER returned after my freshman year. He and Madre opened up their home to my and adopted me s their own child, showing be with unconditional love and friendship. Padres was a mentor with an infectious laugh, jovial spirit, and unmatched wit. He was both compassionate and curious, genuinely taking interest in my life. Though he was beyond brilliant, he was humble and teachable, willing to learn new things from anyone. He NEVER was condescending or dismissive, only supportive and inquisitive. Padre's enduring legacy will be how he LOVED and led his BEAUTIFUL wife, Debra (Madre), and his AMAZING children--Dennae, Christopher, Benjamin, Timothy, and Jonathan. My LOVE and AFFECTION for every member of this family is immeasurable. I weep with them over the loss of Padre, the Patriarch. But I rejoice that he's no longer suffering physically and he's resting peacefully in the Bosom of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I had the pleasure of working with Mike for many summers at the BJU Campus Store. The “energy level” in the stockroom always went up a notch or 2 when he entered the door each morning. Always ready to work, ask questions, and chip in a lot of humor along the way. My heart goes out to the family. Connie and I extend deepest and dearest thoughts at this time of loss.

I will miss Mike’s clever comedic work emails requesting timecard assistance. They cracked me up! We also shared the same birthday, so I will think of and pray for the family on that special day.

I have nothing but the fondness memories of Dr. White. I had the privilege of taking one of his business classes in 2003. Besides being a great teacher and mentor, he was absolutely hilarious. He would shine his laser pointer on the forehead of any student who might fall asleep in class. He would say he was “warming him up.” He seemed so joyous and happy. He made all his student want to search for the humor and joy in every day life. He will be greatly missed!

I called Michael just ranting about some injustice I experienced. He listened intently like he always did. When I took a breath, he asked, "Feel better now? Is there anything I can do? Fine I'll talk to you later." He was very kind. Not judgmental. He was just use to me. I love my brother and will miss him always.
