Michaleen Jacobs, 78, wife of the late Donald Jacobs, died Thursday, August 12, 2021.
She was born and raised in Canton, OH and graduated from the Notre Dame College where she served as Student Body President. She did her post graduate studies at the University of Akron. Mrs. Jacobs was a high school teacher, and her last position was with the Dekalb County, Georgia School System.
Due to her husband’s career with IBM, the family made homes in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Connecticut, and Georgia. Following retirement, she and her husband moved to Greenville.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Jacobs and his wife, Ginger, and their children, Geneva and Garrett, all of Washington, DC; and by her son, Dr. Scott Jacobs and his wife, Julie, and their daughters, Gabriella and Isabella, all of Jacksonville, FL; and her sister, Kathy Guy of Portland, OR.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Geneva Charley.
Over her lifetime, Michaleen was a volunteer with several organizations her favorite being The Humane Society. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greenville Humane Society, 305 Airport Rd., Greenville, SC 29607 or at www.greenvillehumane.com.
