Mrs. Ruth Sanders Bryant passed away on October 19, 2020 after a century of serving the Lord and selflessly loving her family on earth. She was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, reunited with her husband, Joe Bryant and their children, Ann and Donnie (Violet).
Born in Hartwell, GA, Ruth was one of ten children born of the late Myrtle Corinthean Sanders and Alvin Monroe Sanders, Sr. She was intelligent and hardworking from an early age and learned the value of kindness and generosity while growing up in a farming community. She was needed at home and like many children, learned her most valuable lessons while working in the fields.
Ruth grew to be strong and industrious and would use these traits later in her roles of devoted wife and supportive mother of eight children. She had an incredible green thumb and could produce fruits and vegetables for her family which she canned and preserved to last them throughout the winter. She had the concentration and skills required to design and quilt warm blankets for her family to use and treasure.
Ruth enjoyed fishing and was quick to tell anyone listening that she 'caught 'em, cleaned 'em, and cooked 'em'. Her generous spirit and love for the Lord was impossible to overlook and led her to invite people into her home to worship. This gathering of several believers was the humble beginnings of First Christian Fellowship of City View. Ruth was a respected Mother of the church for over 50 years who lived by example and raised her children to joyfully serve the Lord. In later years, she babysat and watched little ones in her family as well as in families of others who needed her help and ministry.
Ruth's memory is forever cherished in the hearts of her children, Eunice Tucker (Tuck), Glenn Bryant (Sheila Jo), Herbert Bryant (Sally), Jerry Bryant (Deb), Linda Smith (Louie), Wanda Rowland (James); siblings, Inez Eaves, Sarah Braswell, Doris Reynolds, Thomas Sanders, Sandy Sanders, and Claude Sanders. Ruth found joy in the future generations and was blessed with over one hundred grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a wealth of nieces and nephews and their families, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her husband and children, Ruth was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Cape, Vera Eaves, and Effie Sanders.
