I had the exceptional good fortune of having Nancy as my mentor when I began work in the Greenville County Schools. I can't imagine it possible to have had a more patient, kind and competent individual supporting me. So many times I arrived in her office after hours with questions to find her still at work. She would always greet me with her glowing smile, stop what she was doing, and collaborate for as along as it took to resolve the challenge. In my estimation, Nancy was among that small percentage of folks who can be relied upon to do the right thing every time, personally and professionally. She is among my fondest memories of Greenville and holds a special place in my heart as a friend and colleague.

Love to your family and may you rest in peace Nancy.

Nancy always had a smile on her face. She never appeared dismayed or frustrated in her circumstances. She brought such humility to those around her. Her absence will be felt every time I walk into Dunbar CDC and Chandler Creek Elementary. My team member of 11 years is no longer here. I feel such a deep loss; however, I know she is no longer in pain and her infectious smile is now contagious in Heaven. My deepest sympathies to all of her family.

To Nancy's family... Words cannot express the sadness in my heart for the passing of such a precious soul as Nancy. I was the Speech evaluator who worked with her at Overbrook CDC. My husband also did a little landscaping for her a while back. Nancy's smile would always light up the room so I was always trying to make her laugh by trying to set her up on a date. Lol! She was one of a kind and will be greatly missed!
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I didn't know Nancy long, but it didn't take much time to realize how big her heart was, and how special a person she was. She exuded happiness and strength. You could tell she loved her job and loved her students. Despite how she may have been feeling, you never knew because she always was cheerful and had a smile on her face. Prayers for the family as you go through this difficult time. God Bless.

Prayers for you Patty and your family. Nancy is gone to soon. Nancy had more to do! She is pain free now and with Sophie. I will miss her tremendously. Nancy was always there for me-16 years! She was sweet, strong and stubborn. Nancy fought a good fight. A bigger fight than I think I could ever do. I am proud of her! Love you Nancy!!!
Suzy Brown left a message on September 4, 2022:
Nancy was such a calm, steady presence at work, and I had so much admiration for her knowledge and dedication to her work. Nancy was one of the people who helped train me when I began working for the school district ten years ago. She was so patient and always willing to answer a question. She always had time for her fellow psychologists, and I continued to seek out her professional advice over the years. She and I rode to Atlanta a few years ago for the NASP conference, and I really got to know her better on that trip. She had a lovely sense of humor and was easy to be around. She and I shared a love for cheesy Hallmark Christmas movies and often compared notes about the best ones. Nancy was such an expert in preschool assessment, and I feel so fortunate to have worked alongside her in that role for many years. I never saw her stressed or overwhelmed by a work situation, yet she always gave 100% effort and maintained the highest level of commitment in everything that she did. I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that Nancy was greatly valued and dearly loved. I will miss her so much.

Nancy was one of the most kind, humble, positive people I have ever had the privilege to work with and call my friend. Her smile and kind spirit will be greatly missed and will leave a huge hole in the preschool program where she worked tirelessly to ensure that our little ones received the services and supports they needed to thrive and grow. No more pain and suffering and I am sure you are back together with your fur baby. Much love
