Naomi R. Williams, 87, devoted wife of David Williams, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at her daughter’s home in NC after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Pontiac, MI, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Dortha Turpen Serviss.
Mrs. Williams was a member of Morningside Baptist Church, where she taught a ladies Bible study for many years and served in the choir and music ministry. She had a gift for hospitality and blessed many missionaries and other Christian workers as well as students in her home.
Her memory will continue on with her husband of 61 years, David, her two wonderful daughters, Amy Freeman and husband, Daniel, and Elizabeth Fleming; eight adoring grandchildren, David Freeman and wife, Andrea, Amijoy Bryner and husband, Cody, Marianne Freeman, Jonathan Freeman, Caleb Fleming and wife, Colby, Andrew Fleming, Sarah Fleming, and William Fleming; two precious great-grandsons, William and Jamie Freeman; her sister, Suzanne Wilkins of Punta Gorda, FL.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving son, David Earl Williams and two sisters, Hazel Malecki and Wilma Jean Bieber.
A visitation will be held Monday, August 23, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park Remembrance Mausoleum Chapel.
