Noemi Jimenez Alcantar

Noemi Jimenez Alcantar, our beloved daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 20, 2022. She was 41 years young and had a life filled with love and laughter.

Born on October 18, 1980 in Ciudad Hidalgo, Michoacan, Mexico, Noemi was a daughter of Liberato Jimenez and Angela Alcantar Gonzalez.

She came to the United States as a small child and lived briefly in Los Angeles.. Noemi was very athletic and competed in track and field where she won several short distance races. Although Noemi lived in several different states throughout her life, she had a fondness for Greenville and considered South Carolina a second home.

Noemi loved to sing and had a beautiful voice which her family enjoyed. She was energetic and loved to dance at family gatherings and parties. Noemi’s sparkling eyes and radiant smile lit up any room and ultimately made her the life of the party. She had a love for all types of music and always loved to have music playing.

She was a glamorous woman who loved wearing stilettos and high heels anywhere and everywhere. You would not catch her anywhere without looking flawless. She loved makeup and fragrance and presented herself according to the latest fashion trends. Noemi always looked like money.

Those who knew Noemi knew her inner beauty matched, if not rivaled, her outward appearance. She had a generous and compassionate heart which led her to place the needs of others before her own and help those in need of assistance or friendship. She had a heart of gold.

Noemi never met a stranger and had the gift to truly communicate with people from all walks of life and varied backgrounds. She looked into the heart of the person and not at their outward appearance. Noemi did not judge and felt comfortable anywhere with anyone…her free spirit will never be forgotten.

Noemi leaves behind her three children, Monique Marin, Pedro Pacheco, and Noemi Macedonia  Pacheco and a beautiful, precious blessing, her treasured grandson, Joel Anthony Gutierrez. She also leaves her father; her mother and best friend, Angela, with whom she shared a special closeness; four siblings, Lucia Jimenez, Pastor Jimenez, Lily Jimenez, Maria Jimenez; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Alfredo Jimenez and a dear nephew, Daniel Jimenez.

Noemi was a faithful communicant of San Sebastian Catholic Church in Greenville.

Visitation and public viewing will be held Monday, August 29, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown with a recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Reverend Jose Orlando Cheverría-Jiménez on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at San Sebastian Catholic Church, 2300 Old Buncombe Rd, Greenville, SC 29609 with burial following in Mountain View Memorial Park, 7 Duncan Rd, Travelers Rest, SC 29690.

Noemí Jiménez Alcantar, nuestra querida hija, madre, hermana, abuela y tía, falleció inesperadamente en su casa el sábado 20 de agosto de 2022. Tenía 41 años y una vida llena de amor y risas.

Nacida el 18 de octubre de 1980 en Ciudad Hidalgo, Michoacán, México, Noemí era hija de Liberato Jiménez y Ángela Alcantar González. Llegó a los Estados Unidos cuando era niña  y vivió brevemente en Los Angeles, California. Noemí era muy atlética y competía en atletismo donde ganó varias carreras. Aunque Noemi vivió en varios estados diferentes, le tenía cariño a Greenville y consideraba a Carolina del Sur como un segundo hogar.

A Noemí le encantaba cantar y tenía una hermosa voz que su familia disfrutaba. Era enérgica y le encantaba bailar en reuniones familiares y fiestas. Los ojos chispeantes y la sonrisa radiante de Noemí iluminaron cualquier habitación y finalmente la convirtieron en el alma de la fiesta. Le encantaba escuchar todo tipo de música.

Era una mujer glamorosa que amaba usar tacones en cualquier lugar y en todas partes. Le encantaba el maquillaje y se presentaba de acuerdo con las últimas tendencias de la moda. Nunca la miramos sin tacones y siempre estaba vestida para salir aunque iba al mercado.

Quienes conocían a Noemí sabían que su belleza interior igualaba, si no rivalizaba, con su apariencia exterior. Tenía un corazón generoso y compasivo que la llevó a anteponer las necesidades de los demás a las suyas y ayudar a quienes necesitaban ayuda o amistad.

Noemí nunca conoció a un extraño y tenía el don de comunicarse verdaderamente con personas de todos los ámbitos de la vida y de diversos orígenes. Miró en el corazón de la persona y no en su apariencia externa. Noemí no juzgaba y se sentía cómoda en cualquier lugar con cualquiera… su espíritu medio lleno y libre nunca será olvidado. Ella tenía un corazón de oro.

Noemí deja atrás a sus tres hijos, Monique Marin, Pedro Pacheco y Noemi Macedonia Pacheco, y una hermosa y preciosa bendición, su preciado nieto, Joel Anthony Gutiérrez. Ella también deja a su padre; su madre y mejor amiga, Ángela, con quien compartió una cercanía especial; cuatro hermanos, Lucia Jimenez, Pastor Jimenez, Lily Jimenez, Maria Jimenez; y varias sobrinas y sobrinos.

Le precedieron en la muerte su hermano, Alfredo Jiménez y un querido sobrino, Daniel Jiménez.

Noemí era una fiel comulgante de la Iglesia Católica de San Sebastián en Greenville.

El velorio y la vista pública se llevarán a cabo el lunes 29 de agosto de 2022 de 3:00 p. m. hasta las 20:00 en Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown con un rezo del Santo Rosario a partir de las 6:00 p.m. en la capilla Una misa cristiana sepultura será celebrada por el reverendo José Orlando Cheverría-Jiménez el martes 30 de agosto de 2022 a las 13:00 horas. en la Iglesia Católica de San Sebastián, 2300 Old Buncombe Rd, Greenville, SC 29609 y el entierro seguirá en Mountain View Memorial Park, 7 Duncan Rd, Travelers Rest, SC 29690.
