Orvell Jones

Orvell Jones, 69, of 109 Wynette Street, died June 20, 2004 at Laurel Baye Nursing Center. Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Johnny and Dovie Hagood Jones. Before his retirement, he was employed with J.P. Stevens. He was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Elvena Wood Jones; a daughter, Helena J. Collins and her husband, Phillip, of Greenville; three sons, Thomas Jones and Gary Earl Jones of Greenville, and Eddie Lee Jones of Austin, TX; two grandchildren, Mishol S. Dodd and Alisha C. Jones of Greenville; two sisters, Margaret Crawford and Betty Sue Montgomery, and a brother, Joe Ben Jones. He was preceded in death by Bill Jones, Robert Jones, Paul Jones, Mazetta Dickey and Nellie Mae Prince. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the trust of Elvena Jones @ Laurel Baye Health Care, % Elvena Jones Trust, 661 Rutherford Road, Greenville, SC 29609. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew United Methodist Church Cemetery.
