Patricia “Pat” Stewart, 85, of Taylors, wife of John “Jack” Stewart, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 23, 2021.
Born in St. Joseph, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Beauford and Margaret Webster.
Pat was a devoted member of St. Rafka Maronite Catholic Church.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by daughters Nancy Stewart, Susan (Joe) Clarke, and Diane Holcomb; sons John (Nell) Stewart, Tom (Debbie) Stewart, Tim (Eden) Stewart, and Andy (Melanie) Stewart; sisters Mary Ann Glenski and Kathleen Webb; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and longtime devoted companion Shirley Floyd.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Brooks.
Pat was a supermom to seven children and a loving, devoted wife. She and Jack moved to France in 1974-75, where Pat magnificently managed the home and children. She brought joy to everyone she met. An avid reader and writer, she authored two books and had numerous articles published by the SC Writers Workshop. Her sharp wit brought laughter to family and friends.
Pat earned a business degree from Furman University and started her own business, Helping Hands of Greenville. She was a teacher for the Arthritis Foundation and worked for Allen Bennett Hospital and United Ministries. One of her greatest gifts was her generous spirit, supporting charities such as Meals on Wheels, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Doctors Without Borders.
Pat was the Alpha Female.
A visitation will be held Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at St. Rafka Maronite Catholic Church with the funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
