Patricia “Pat” Rainey

Patricia “Pat” Raines Rainey, 79, devoted wife of William “Bill” M. Rainey, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 18, 2022.

Born in Dacusville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Mary Heeney Raines.

Patricia was a loyal member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. She retired from William Goldsmith Real Estate after 21 years of dedicated work.

Pat loved her family with all that she had. Even when she was not at 100%, she was “the glue” that held their family together, and they have vowed to continue that in her memory. She would call friends and family on their birthday’s and would sing personalized humorous birthday songs that she created for them; having her own little list of all the dates, even the people in her Sunday school class. And sometimes, even accidentally calling random strangers to wish them a happy birthday. Pat had a wonderful and contagious sense of humor, loved to play the piano, sing, cheer on the Clemson Tigers, and was a big Elvis fan.

Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her husband, Bill; her six wonderful children, Cyndi Shamah (Ralph), Angela Shupe (Ken), Patti Roberts, Jodi Grant (Tim), and Kim Cope; seven wonderful grandchildren, Rachel Shamah, Zack Shamah (Lacey), Michael Shamah, Jake Shupe (Tori), Austin and Gavin Grant, Mitchel Cope; two grand dogs, Gabbi and Jack; 3 adoring great grandsons, Asher Shamah, Holden and Kayce Shupe, and her first great granddaughter on the way, Addyson Shamah; and her best friends and sisters, Clara Leslie (Bert), Barbara Addington, Sharon Hensley (Hack). A special thank you to her special nieces, nephews, and other loving family members for their love and care.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Kris; and siblings, Nancy, Margie, Lib, Dot, Steve, Jim, and Jack Raines.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown followed by the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
