Paul Gibson Dickerson

Paul Gibson Dickerson, 90, loving husband of Sue Dickerson, died Sunday, February 19, 2023.

Born in Royston, GA, he was the son of the late William and Icie Eavenson Dickerson.

Paul proudly served his country and was a veteran of the US Navy and the last surviving member of his family. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Easley. An avid fisherman and bowler, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by daughters, Diane Lopez (Jose) and Jean Porter; son, Sam Dickerson (Debbie); grandchildren, Jonathan Lopez (Elizabeth); Reverend Joel Lopez (Kristen); Jennifer Creel (Greg); Dr. Jared Dickerson (Lauren); and Joanna Watkins (Logen); and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Pauline Dickerson; sisters, Sarah Clardy, Wenona Woody, and Janice Slay; brother, Horace Dickerson; and son in law, John Porter.

A visitation will be held Friday, February 24, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. Burial will be held in Graceland Cemetery West.

Family will be at the home of his daughter, Diane Lopez.
