Peggy Jean Gosnell, 77, of Taylors, beloved wife of the late Billy Gosnell, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Martha Harrison Howard.
Peggy lovingly called “Granny” by her grandchildren, was a true southern woman to the core. She took great delight in going to the mountains and the beach, doing word searches, and just enjoying the simple things in life. Peggy never claimed to have a green thumb, but she loved flowers and admiring their beauty. One of Peggy’s favorite things to do was cook for her friends and family; especially her famous banana pudding. Her sweet spirit, and loving heart will never be forgotten but her memory and legacy of love will carry on through her loved ones.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Sheltra (Randy Hagle), Martha Bragg (John) and Jackie Burns; grandson, Curtis Gosnell reared in the home; nine additional grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren; sister, Gwen Tinsley; special family friend, Van Hale.
In addition to her loving husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sons, Keith and Carl Gosnell; two brothers; and a sister.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Glassy Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery, 936 N. Glassy Mountain Rd., Landrum, SC.
