Reid Charles Jones, 30, of Greer, died Thursday, September 9, 2021.
Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of Jean Aldridge Jones of Greer and Victor C. Jones of Alpharetta, GA.
Reid was a skateboarder, musician, and artist. He was a collector of hats, stickers, vintage action figures, and shoes. He always had a project going: creating custom fingerboards, jewelry, and other crafts. He had plans to visit all of the South Carolina State Parks with his dog, Ripple. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
He will be missed by his sisters, Jean Marie Holmes and Victoria White; his brothers-in-law, Alphonso Holmes and Zachary White; his nephews, Donovan Holmes and Leo White; and his niece, Marie Holmes.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom and Jean Aldridge and Charlie and Sue Jones.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 19, 2021 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel. A celebration of his life will follow the memorial service at The Community Tap, 217 Wade Hampton Blvd, Greenville, SC 29609 from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
Family and friends who are unable to attend the service can view the Live Stream by clicking on the “Watch Livestream” button located on the main obituary page.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The UU World of Children. Reid found a spiritual home at the Greenville Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and for that we will always be grateful. https://www.uuwoc.com/about
