Reubina H. Goss, 83, wife of Blaine Goss, died Monday, February 21, 2022 at her home.
Born in Greenville, she was as daughter of the late Raymond and Lavada Reeves Gossett.
Bina was athletic throughout her life and played guard on the 1957 Class B All-State Champion Girls Basketball team at Mauldin High School. She married her husband on December 21, 1957 and was a devoted wife who followed her husband’s military career across three states. In each state they lived, the couple welcomed a new child. As an adult, she played softball and soccer and was an active supporter of her children’s sporting teams. Bina and Blaine returned to Mauldin in 1966, and she worked for the former House of Fabrics, Sofro, as a quality inspector and later retired from Hitachi. She was a member of the Eastern Star Mauldin Chapter #251, and the Daughters of the Nile, Al Ansar Temple No. 117.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Sherry Goss, Donna McMahan, and Timothy Goss; three grandchildren, Randall “Chad” Goss and wife, Lauren, Brandon Goss and fiancé, Heather, and Justin McMahan; one great grandchild, Landon McMahan; one brother, Jimmy Gossett and wife, Sheryl; three sisters-in-law, Gayle Gossett, Jean Marie Lohr, and Tandy Stewart and husband, Bob; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Dewey Gossett.
A visitation will be held, Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 12 noon until 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast followed by the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
