Robert Bruce Campbell, Sr., 87, of Greenville, beloved husband of 67 years to Joyce Teague Campbell, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 14, 2023.
Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Tyra and Winnie Couch Campbell.
A 1954 graduate of Parker High School, Robert was a proud veteran of the US Army and exemplified his dedication and commitment in all facets of his life.
Robert’s presence was deeply felt at Grove Road Baptist Church, where he served as a former deacon. His faithfulness and devotion to his church community were evident in his commitment, even when circumstances limited his attendance.
Among his passions, Robert found joy in the game of golf. However, nothing brought him more happiness than the warmth of family gatherings and shared meals. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, his love for his family was immeasurable.
Robert was a man of profound family values, a strong moral compass, and an unwavering faith in his Lord. His impact on those around him was immense, and his memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His absence will be deeply felt, and his presence will be dearly missed.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his son, Robert Campbell, Jr. of Traveler’s Rest; granddaughter, Brandi Campbell Harris (Matthew); great grandsons, Mason and Bryant Harris; sister, Carol Parton of Taylors; sister-in-law, Myrtle Campbell of Anderson; brother-in-law, Sammy Teague (Carolyn) of Travelers Rest; special friend, Josette Glasso; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Campbell-Hill; and many brothers and sisters .
A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest, followed by the graveside service at 2:00 p.m. in Graceland Cemetery West. The Reverend Chris Conner to officiate.
