Bobby Deegan’s life was a gift of joy to his parents and his entire family. We celebrate each minute shared with him in the four years, eight months and 30 days he was on this earth. We rejoice that he is whole in Heaven, but we will miss him greatly every day that we remain on this earth without him.
Robert Edward Deegan III was born Oct. 24, 2011, to Bob and Erika Deegan, who fought tirelessly for the best care for him from the moment he arrived. He came home from the hospital six months later. Defying every prediction and expectation, Bobby lived life with Trisomy 18 with a smile on his face. He gave his mama bear hugs, his arms and legs wrapped tightly around her. He kissed his dad’s face so hard and so long he left teeth marks on his cheeks.
Bobby loved his little brother Brady, and Brady returned that love. From the minute he could walk, Brady started each day headed straight to Bobby’s room to check on him. Their new brother, expected later this year, will grow up knowing the face and the sweetness of the oldest brother he’ll never meet.
God graciously allowed Bobby the health to be at home with his family for most of his life. After a brief hospital stay, he slipped quickly and peacefully from his mommy’s arms into the arms of Jesus on July 23, 2016. Bobby will be loved forever and remembered with great happiness by his parents, brothers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Those who wish to celebrate Bobby’s life with his family are invited to visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and a memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday. Both will be held at North Hills Community Church, 4952 Edwards Road, Taylors.
