Robert Leonard Halliday

Robert Leonard Halliday, 86, of Taylors died July 24, 2004 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center. Born in Jamestown, NY, he was the son of the late Harold and Minnie Swanson Halliday Ellis. He served his country in the Army Air Corp. during WWII. Mr. Halliday received his Bachelor?s
and Master?s Degrees in Education from Fredonia State University in New York. During his career in education he served as Superintendent of Schools in Lake Shore Central School District and was Assistant Superintendent of B.O.C.E.S. Mr. Halliday was also a Mason. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Jeanne Easling Halliday; one daughter Susan Halliday Fincher of Taylors; one son, John B. Halliday of Dunkirk, NY; three grandchildren, Wesley Fincher, Molly Fincher, and John Robert Halliday. He was preceded in death by a son, Robin Halliday. A memorial service was held on Sunday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel. Burial will be in Angola, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Taylors Public Library, Main St., Taylors or a charity of one?s choice.
