Robert “Bob” Mason Burdine, Sr., lifelong resident of the Berea community and beloved husband of Karen Galloway Burdine passed Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at the age of 78.
Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late James Pickens and Rachel McAdams Burdine.
Bob was a proud graduate of the 1962 class of Berea High School. He furthered his education at Clemson College where he graduated in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
Bob spent an impressive 40 years working for the same company, JE Sirrine (later Jacobs Engineering) as a Professional Engineer. He specialized his work in the pulp and paper division where he managed major projects throughout the United States.
Bob was a wonderful husband and father. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by daughter, Joselyn Rachelle Burdine; son, Robert Mason Burdine Jr.; and sister, Lantie Burdine Sandlin (Steve). He is also survived by extended family and friends, including several much beloved cousins.
A visitation will be held Sunday, May 28, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Berea First Baptist Church Cemetery.
