Ron Young, Piedmont left a message on January 28, 2022:
I just found out that Bob passed a few minutes ago and I feel remiss for not keeping in closer touch with him, so I would have known of his passing in time to attend the funeral and burial. However, I have been in somewhat of a fog since my Peggy passed unexpectedly in June 2021. Bob and I worked together at 3M and I admired his loyalty, along with his many skills and abilities. He was a man of his word and a man with good Christian values and morals. He was devoted to Billie and took care of her every need during the many months she was in declining health. He was never quite the same after she passed, but was so proud of Wendi and Scott, as well at the grandkids and great grandkids. I never had a conversation with him when he did not mention his family. I hated to see him leave 3M, but I knew he would be a success wherever he went and his successful experience with Alaskan Pipeline proved that point. He went to work on the pipe line to build a nest egg so he could come home and open a machine shop, which he did. And he was an expert machinist also! Please accept my deepest condolences in the loss of your father, grandfather and great-grandfather. May the love of God and the love of family and friends help you deal with this time of grief. I was just thinking last week that I should give Bob a call to find a time we could enjoy lunch together . . .

Wendy, I am so sorry for the loss of this amazing man, your Daddy. We had talked recently about me coming for a visit, but family illness stopped that. I'm happy knowing that he and Billie are together for eternity. Theirs is the greatest love story of all time. I had great respect for Bob Potter, and Miss. Billie Potter. Some of the best people I've had the priviledge to know. Know that I'm just a call away - 8646407921.

Dear Family, Deborah called me last night to tell me of your Dad's passing; we were so sorry to hear of that. I had talked with Bob about once a month for quite awhile and knew his health was declining. I am trying to send flowers, but may not have time since it is Sat. already. I, Debbie and her son send our regards. I live in Anderson now and would love to see Wendy or Scott and hear of your families. In the event you don't recognize my name; I am Clint's ex-wife. My regards to each of you. Roberley
