Robert William Watson III

Robert "Bob" William Watson III, 71, husband of Linda Canup Watson, was called home Monday morning, December 30, 2013, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Born in Havre de Grace, MD, he was the son of the late Robert William and Pauline Broyles Watson. He was an alumnus of Clemson University and retired from Jacobs Engineering. Bob was a Christian man, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was an active member of Laurel Baptist Church where he served as deacon, chairman of deacons, bus ministry, Sunday school teacher and member of the drama team. Surviving, in addition to his wife Linda, are his daughters, Tracey Holder and husband Danny of Greenville, and Heather Watson of Lawrenceville, GA; his "third" daughter, Mandy Baxley and husband Robert of Bogart, GA; three precious grandchildren, Wyman Baxley, Loy Brynne Baxley and Nolan Holder; and two sisters, Sallie Osteen and husband Gene of Greenville, and Martha Watson of Winston-Salem, NC. Visitation will be held 1:00 – 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Laurel Baptist Church with the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Graceland East Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Laurel Baptist Church, 2331 Laurens Road, Greenville, SC 29607. Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast.
