Roberta "Becky" Sheppard, 70, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 24, 2021.

Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Ruby Paige Ross.

Becky was a member of Tremont Church Of God where she was a tremendous prayer warrior. Becky was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her three children; Angela Sheppard, Tony Sheppard and Gabrielle Whitmire; eleven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five sisters; a brother and her special loving friend, Anthony "Tony" Balkjy.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at 12:00 o'clock noon in the Northwest Chapel. Burial will follow in the Brushy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Taylors.

Masks are required in all Thomas McAfee Funeral Home locations and attendees are strongly encouraged to follow CDC guidelines on social distancing.

Mrs. Sheppard was very special to me because she trusted me and allowed me to spend time with Ashton and Sierra that I love very much. We talked often and prayed together all the time. She loved her family very much and I also know she loved me. Recently when she found out my mother was sick and she texted me the sweetest encouraging words and I knew she was praying for my mom. Sorry I will not be able to be with you on Saturday because it’s my weekend to take care of my parents. I will be watching the service online/live.
