Roger Thomas Ginn, 67, of Greenville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 15, 2022.
Born in Royston, GA, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary Tennant Ginn.
Roger grew up in Georgia and was a proud graduate of Hart County High School. He worked in office administration for a transportation company until his early retirement due to health problems. Roger was an active member of Church of the Redeemer in Greenville. In his free time, he greatly enjoyed watching NASCAR – a love rivaled by his love for the Georgia Bulldog’s football team.
He is survived by his two sons, Ryan and Kevin Ginn; and sister and brother-in-law, Cathy Ginn and Rev. Dan Helvey. Roger also leaves his loving companion, Janet Young Ginn; her two sons, Chris Campbell and Jerry Young, and their families.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Orr-Ginn.
For his family and friends in GA, a visitation will be held Friday, May 20, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home, 305 Cleveland Ave., Hartwell, GA 30643.
For those in the Greenville area, visitation will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. in Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. in Hartwell, GA at Nancy Hart Memorial Gardens.
