Rose Bruce Cain

Rose Bruce Cain, age 83, resident of the Rolling Green community in Greenville and wife of the late William G. Cain, died March 13, 2023 at her home.

Born August 19, 1939, in Shreveport, LA, she was the daughter of the late LaPrelle and Carline Bruce.

Before her retirement, Mrs. Cain was employed by Honeywell, Inc. for over 20 years as both a systems analyst and later as a marketing representative for large scale computers.

Mrs. Cain, a member of Green Valley Country Club, loved golf and bridge with the ladies. Rose served as President of the St. James Episcopal Church Women’s Auxiliary and of the Anglican Church of St. George the Martyr; she also served on the Vestry at the latter. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she served as President of the St. Mary’s Women’s Club and served on the Board in various positions. Rose also volunteered at the Monastery of Saint Clare in Travelers Rest.

Surviving are her son, William G. “Gordy” Cain, Jr. and his wife, Linda Wilson Cain, of Oakwood, GA; a granddaughter, Savannah Rose Cain Smith and her husband, Scott Henderson Smith, of Greenville, SC; grandson, William G. Cain, III of Baltimore, MD; two sisters, Sharon Barnette of Shelby, NC and Mary Ann Blanks and her husband, Ben Blanks, of Greenville, SC; and a sister-in-law, Eleanor Cain Logan, and her husband, Dan Logan, of Columbia, SC.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, March 23, 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Christ Church Episcopal Churchyard.
