Roy was a very special man! As a teenager at Greenville First Assembly of God, my life was changed while I sought the Lord around the altar there. Roy was always there to pray with me and for me. He never left me until I was ready to move. That meant more to me than anyone can know! That was 50 years ago, and I am still so appreciative of those times that still have an impact on my life! One day, I will personally thank him when we all get to heaven!!

I only knew Roy thru our working relationship at Davis Electrical Constructors, Inc from the early 1990s into the 2000s. Since I was just a youngster at the time, Roy would be my "go to guy" for technical advise and he was always very willing to share his knowledge. So, needless to say, I always looked up to Roy. He had impeccable character. God Speed to Roy Garrett and his family (He is where we all want to be when we depart this temporary home on earth).

I was one of Mr. Garrett caregiver. He was such a sweet man. It would brighten my day to see him look up and smile to me while I was talking to him. Some days he would even conversate with me and that made me smile too. He will be missed!

I had the privilege of working with Roy for many years on a wide range of projects. He worked for Davis Electrical and I worked for Cryovac. Roy was an integral part of the successful jobs we completed over the course of many years. Roy was a good man, who I considered a friend. My heartfelt condolences to Pam and David during this difficult time.

I’ll always remember Uncle Roy as a grinning face walking up to me with some trick or silly thing to show us and make us smile as kids. He would tell jokes or say little things to make us smile. Every single time. I have no memory of him other than a calm, easy going bringer of kindness. What a light he is to the Garrett family and beyond. Can’t wait to see him again someday.
