Roy Wesley Shealy, Jr., 82, husband of Sara Shealy, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021.

Born in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Roy and Grace Cason Shealy.

Mr. Shealy was a member of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church and retired as the owner-operator of Shealy’s Texaco / Marathon Service Station in Mauldin, SC.

In addition to his wife of 59 years, left to cherish his memory are his son, Rex Adam von Borstel and wife, Elaine; daughter, Sandi Shealy-Ekberg and husband, Nils; and son, Robert Shealy and wife, Kimberly; six grandchildren, Lindsey, Gregory, Ashley, and Riley von Borstel, Nils Ekberg, and Hollianna Story; and a sister, Dolores White.

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by a daughter, Alice Shealy.

The graveside service will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fairview Presbyterian Church Cemetery and will be officiated by the Rev. Trish Guinn.

I’m sorry to hear this. Roy was a great man and a mentor when I was growing up.

Sorry to hear of Mr. Shealy's passing, he was a good man. It has been since the closing of the station since we have last seen him. Our kids grew up coming to Texaco Station. Mr. Shealy would always laugh and tell me one day he would have to come pick us with the tow truck because I always came in on a wing and a pray he said. So sorry to learn of Roy's passing. He serviced mine and my parents (James and Frances Nash) car for many years . I always enjoyed my visits there. Roy was funny, kind and always smiling. Thankful for the memories I have of him. Your family will be in my prayers RIP Roy.

We have known Roy and Sara for many years at Grace Covenant Presbyterian and have always thought very highly of them both. We are saddened by Roy's passing and will continue to keep your mother and all of you in our prayers.

Although I only met Roy a few times, he was a great man. He was my sister’s father in law. He helped her out many times with her car. One time he gave her a bill that she was paying in small increments, but then, for her birthday, tore up the bill. He was sincere and had a heart of gold. A genuine gentleman, he will be missed. My condolences to the entire family.

So sorry to hear of Roy's passing. I did business with Roy for many years and loved talking to him about Gamecock football. Roy will be missed! We certainly offer our condolences to Sara, Sandi, Robby and family. We are praying for you and your family at this time. May you cherish your fond memories and know God's comfort and peace.

Roy Shealy was a terrific person and dear friend. I have reflected over the last few days about the many great times we had over 47 years. I can not put into words the respect and love I had for Roy and have always considered him my 2nd father. Sara, Rob, and Sandi your were blessed to have him as a husband and dad. I pray that your pain can somehow be eased knowing Roy was a strong Christian and you will see him again one day. May God Bless your entire family during this difficult time. I have never said this before- “Go Cocks!”

So very sorry to know of the sudden passing of Mr. Shealy. May he be remembered as a dedicated caregiver and an example of love, commitment and promise as he rests in peace.

I am very sorry to hear of your father's passing. I love you all very much and wish peace for you during this difficult time. I hope you will share many happy memories of your father and remember the good times.

This is very sad news to hear. I’ll never forget all the kind things Mr. Shealy did for me as a young man. It was a pleasure working for him over 40 years ago when I was a teenager. I am sending prayers to the family.
