Sandy Whaley Loftis left this temporary life and exchanged it for life eternal on June 28th, 2022.
In her 59 years, Sandy made an impact on all who knew her. She had an infectious laugh; she was always eager to share a smile and a kind word to anyone she encountered. Family was everything to her; she had a deep loyalty to her relatives. She was deeply loved by her three nephews and four nieces, whom she always adored and cherished being involved in their lives.
Sandy’s love of family was followed by her passion and compassion for all animals. She loved every dog and cat that were ever blessed enough to be in her life. In fact, Sandy always signed birthday cards from herself and from all her pets and farm animals.
The beach, Charleston specifically, exemplified the southern charm that was deeply woven into the fabric of Sandy’s life. She was always interested in her genealogy, from her mountain kin to her coastal plain family. Sandy had many hobbies and enjoyed dancing, playing games, spending time with her family, and was an aficionado of the Andy Griffith show. She could tell you details from how much a shave was at Floyd’s Barber shop to the specials at the diner.
In her professional life, Sandy had the distinction of being a partner with the Loftis Corporation. In addition to this, she served as the president of National Women in Construction, where she forged many relationships. Sandy was passionate about giving back to the community she so loved. She mentored at Sterling Hope Center, volunteered for St Francis Health System, and served many a meal at Triune Mercy Center.
Most important to her was her love for the Lord. Sandy accepted Jesus as her Savior at an early age, and her faith was the cornerstone of her life. Because of this faith, we take great comfort in knowing we will see her again.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Edward Loftis; her father and mother, Robert and Judy Whaley; her brothers and their spouses, Erik and Ann Whaley, Scott and Tiffany Whaley; and seven nephews and nieces, William, Virginia Grace, Harper, McCoy, Delia, Hadley, and Stone Whaley.
