Deepest sympathy. Sandy always had a smile for all whom she encountered. She said hello with her wonderful smile even though she maybe didn’t know your name. It was such a shock to hear of her passing. I’m sure she will be sadly missed at OLLI and by family and friends. Again, deepest sympathy. Lynne Barrett OLLI Member

I met Sandy in my role as an instructor at Furman's Olli. My classes usually end close to 5, so I would be closing down my classroom, when she was at work. She was always cheerful and friendly, and it was clear to me that she was dedicated to making sure that EVERYTHING that was needed to make the facilities at Olli work for the instructors and students was done and kept in tip top shape. From behind the scenes, she was a critical element in making our Olli facility be clean and lovely for all of us. She will be hard to replace.

To Sandy's family . . . My condolences and heart-felt prayers for you all. Sandy was a co-worker of mine in the Herring Center at Furman. She was also a friend. We had many wonderful conversations. She loved her family dearly and spoke of her husband, children and grandchildren with love and pride. She was always a bright spot in my day. Although I no longer worked at Furman, I often thought about her and her attention to detail and sweet personality. The loving obituary described Sandy to a tee! She was always cheerful and positive and always encouraging. She will be greatly missed. I pray God's peace and comfort will be with her whole family.

I am very sorry to hear about Sandy’s death. I looked forward to seeing her kind and friendly face each week at the Herring Center. I last spoke to her this past Tuesday when there was a flood in the ladies restroom and she was making sure that none of the OLLI members slipped on the water. She was very conscientious and is already greatly missed. I am thinking of all of you.

Sandy was such an important member of the staff at the Herring Center at Furman. She was always on top of things and made sure to keep everything running smoothly. Best of all, she always had a smile and a cheerful greeting for everyone she met. I am so sorry for your loss. We will miss her at Furman, too.
